Henry Burton participated in the inaugural planning workshop for the newly formed ASCE Infrastructure Resilience Division (IRD). The IRD’s primary role is to develop a common approach to advance the concepts of resilience in our nation’s civil infrastructure and lifeline systems, foster cross-communication and develop collaborations around the impacts of natural hazards on civil infrastructure, facilitate the development of guidelines and standards, and disseminate knowledge throughout the civil engineering community. Henry was tasked with leading an initiative on Resilience Metrics and Performance Objectives for Civil Infrastructure.
